BOSTON (AP) — The founding father of a cryptocurrency and digital cost companies firm who authorities say cheated dozens of buyers and prospects out of about $7.5 million has been sentenced to greater than eight years in jail. My Huge Coin Inc. founder Randall Crater was sentenced in federal courtroom in Boston on Tuesday. Prosecutors say he falsely informed buyers that the cash have been a totally functioning cryptocurrency backed by gold. Crater was convicted in July of wire fraud, illegal financial transactions, and working an unlicensed cash transmitting enterprise.
